Edited by Stefania, whose family first adhered to the project developed by Fightthestroke together with the Neuroscientists group of Parma University Research Centre
We welcomed with enthusiasm and interest in the participation of Federico on the Mirrorable project.
Not that I know - at least I as a mother - a lot of what we should have done but ischemia in children is treated so little matter that we have always made available. Because we believe in innovation, in the 'importance of the change and its fit.
And then there were Francesca and Roberto to support it and we have trusted them mainly because they are first and foremost of the parents. Like us.
The first time I met Mark, the baby-mate Federico in the project I have hoped in me that they could be together.
I do not know why, maybe I looked like ... two boys of the same age about ...
The visit with the neurologist was worthy of a TV series which Greys Anatomy. Finally a doctor who exudes love for his work, which created a relationship with the child making him feel more at ease. A doctor puts the patient at the center of his life. You see that is so and Federico never understood that it was a doctor.
For him is simply the Magician, the supreme leader of the Wizards, but always a Wizard.
The PC and all the material has he brought home Roberto. Roberto is a dad who never sleeps and that 'body and soul - along with Francesca - to the project. Because it believes it, 'cause it's a parent. Like us. They are incredible.
The project started in December.
There was emotion, curiosity and even anxiety. Anxiety that Faith could not live that experience. I feared for the continuity, stress and frustration. I feared the technology also.
But everything went well: the meeting between the children and the special harmony that has been established from the outset. Special. As a friend to have a fixed date every day. For Faith and then for us too familiar.
Day after day we started to feel more and more united and friends, even though we did not know us at all. Actually of them I knew the house, relatives and their our affections, friends. There seemed normal to present to them our intimacy.
Winning the choice of being able to do the project at home. Winning for the whole family. We work and we have another son Philip. Really difficult to think of taking and bringing a child out at night to the 19 making Mirrorable leaving the other child to grandparents waiting for our return and that of my husband.
The project is finished.
We met again in January with the Mark family.
We could not wait to embrace them. We exchanged a little present. Both without telling us, it was just natural.
We took leave all that day. My husband, myself and also the Faith brother did not go to nursery to meet Marco. It was a party.
It 'was a psychologically and humanly wonderful project. We saw two children with the same problems and frustrations that were reflected and learned to support each other because the two of them, more than anyone else, you could understand.
I saw my son move his left hand stimulated by Walter magician and Marco but also by all their family and ours. Reciprocally them with us, we with them. A team.
We felt growing self-esteem of our son and this gave us peace of mind.
I descend the tears when I think of the project, to the infinite availability of Robert and Francesca, available at any time, at any time, when I think of the neurologist, to Mark's family who still look for when I look at the TV. And to all fightthestroke group, an extended family of people who knows how we feel we parents. They are the only ones for real.
I told Frederick that for the time being with Marco we are standing by, but after a while 'we still will connect. He can not wait, and so do we.
Meanwhile I have to find the words to explain to him that the neurologist, that is, the supreme leader of the Wizards, is to become head of some other department.
With affection, Stefania Marco Federico and Filippo
